iceland's almost bankrupt. but the houses are still happy:





so yes, iceland's in deep deep deeeeeeep shit. all the banks have been nationalized, the króna has fallen down down down, lots of people are losing their jobs/money, which means reykjavík is in CNN probably for the first time in history. i think they're kind of proud of having foreign press around even though the whole nation is almost bankrupt:



they even had a demonstration, they want the main guy in the national bank to go away. but basically they don't know how to demonstrate. there were only like 200 people:

but since actually the 'kreppa' (crisis in icelandic) is not affecting us directly, we still have time to walk around:
