small place, small desk/table needed!
So I'm all moved into my new place now (pictures will follow in this entry!), but I am in a pickle. The place is quite small, and we are missing a desk/some kind of working area for laptops & writing. My boyfriend is still a student & I just think it's weird that he doesn't have a place to sit & write anymore. He says it's ok, but I can see he's been struggling. Also, I really hate sitting with my laptop on my legs!! So I would love a table of sorts so I can feel comfortable when I am on my laptop. Basically, I want a desk. It doesn't have to be big (it CAN'T be big, as we have very little room), just a bistro/coffee table and chair will do. I've been looking around but can't seem to find anything. I literally just want the most basic crap ever, it can be made of plastic if it means it's cheap! The best would be a fold-up one so that it doesn't get in the way when we're not using it... or maybe one of those trolley things... i am unsure. So if any of you know of anywhere/anything suitable... I live in the UK, if that helps. Please let me know! Alternatively, if any of you have cleverly fashioned a table out of some other materials, please show me/tell me about it! ( Now here is a picture of my front room & bedroom (as the table will go in one of these rooms - whichever one it fits better into). )If I can't find one I'm going to ask my boss if I can take one of the abandoned coffee tables in our staff room. I noticed them today & thought, I must ask!! Thanks! :) |

One Small Shot
 Well, two actually. Been a while since I've posted here. I found this negative from 1969 in a big batch of photos thrown out by the local minister when he moved, all from his wife's family I gather. This sheet apparently wasn't printed, unless they kept them. I've been saving it just for today. Not the clearest of pictures to begin with under the circumstances and I had some trouble scanning it. You can still make out the subject though. If there's a problem with the height, let me know and I'll cut it. |

OMG, they actually cuddled.
It's been several months since we brought Mr. Whisker into our lives. He and Betsy have been getting along fairly well in the last few weeks, but he still likes to jump on her and then she screams her head off. Since he outweighs her (~11 pounds to her 6.5)I really don't blame her! Anyway, I've caught Betsy washing his face for him before-- for about five seconds, and then smacking him or hissing at him. But I think the trauma of our recent move has brought them together. (They're actually both dealing very well. If we can't find them, they're usually under the bed. But they've been eating, drinking water, using the litter, and exploring the house just fine). Yesterday, they were both hanging out on the couch at the same time, maybe 6 or 8 inches away from each other. Then, earlier today... ( Warning! Cuteness and kittyfeets under the cut! )They've never curled up like this before. I'm so glad I've got my desk right next to the couch, and my camera close at hand. The Fearsome Threesome!
First time posting! I went looking for a comm like this a while ago when I realized I had a surplus of kitty pictures and nowhere to show them off! First, a little backstory: about a month ago, I moved from Upstate New York to Western Mass. to live with the girlfriend. I brought my 5-year-old kitty Liza with me (and, I know this makes me look horrible, but if I had to pick the prettiest of the bunch it would be her. but we've been through so much together I'm very biased) and the Girl and I wanted a kitten. Liza was definitely My Cat, and the only reason the Girl hadn't had a cat beforehand was because she lived at home and her brother is deathly allergic to cat and dog hair. D: So we went on Craigslist, wanting to get a kitten before someone else did and ended up finding the girls. They were the last two of a litter (the babies of a pair of indoor cats belonging to the room mates who lived in the house; they wanted to get their cats fixed but were unsure of how early was safe for them. they overshot a bit and ... kittens happened) and someone else was supposed to come in and take one. She never showed, and we couldn't leave one behind! We got them at 3 months, and now they're almost 17 weeks old. Now that I've talked your ear off, here are some pictures. XD A lot of pictures. The Girl does photography on the side (mostly actor headshots) and she has a wonderful camera, so we're very lucky to have (mostly) good quality shots of the babies. ( Click for pictures!
